WMMS Radio
As the assistant art director, I was fortunate to design and produce a variety of promotional items for this classic rock station in Cleveland, Ohio. The hallmark of my work there was a series of 9 billboards, one of which is shown below. I hand-painted them to scale and the billboard company reproduced them onto buildings and billboard signs.

The largest billboard, hundreds of feet wide, was on the Cold Storage building off of Cleveland's innerbelt bridge.
WMMS made prints of the billboard image. One of these hung in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and collected several original signatures. The radio station was kind enough to give this signed print to me. See below for list of artists who signed this print.
I lived near this building in those years, and rode my bike over to watch the billboard painters re-creating my artwork on a gigantic scale! I collaborated on the design idea with art director Brian Chalmers and WMMS management.

I created the images separately, and the billboard company married the art according to my layout.

I started with photos, then used a photostat camera to make very high contrast images. I then painted them with opaque white and acrylics.
